1. The short version

We only use cookies and browser storage that the Service needs to work — mainly keeping you signed in and remembering your settings. We don't use advertising cookies, we don't track you across other websites, and we don't sell data. Our analytics set no cookies at all, and you can switch them off below. The one exception is an anonymous cookie we use to test versions of the home page (section 5).

2. Your settings

These choices are saved in this browser only. If you use another browser or device, set them there too.

Strictly necessary

Sign-in, security and remembering your settings. Always on — the Service can't work without them.

Cloudflare Web Analytics: aggregated page views and load times. Sets no cookies and doesn't track you across sites.

3. Cookies

All of these are strictly necessary. Most are set by Clerk, our sign-in provider, and only when you use sign-in or have an account. We set one ourselves to enforce the Free plan's viewing limit.

NameSet byPurposeDuration
__sessionClerkShort-lived token proving you're signed inAbout 1 minute, refreshed while you're active
__client_uatClerkTells the site when you last signed in or out, so sessions stay in sync across tabsUp to 1 year
__clientClerk (auth subdomain)Keeps you signed in between visitsUntil you sign out or the session expires
__clerk_db_jwtClerkDevelopment builds only — never set on the live siteSession

4. Browser storage

We also keep a few small values in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage. They never leave your device and are used only to make the site work the way you left it.

NameSet byPurposeDuration
themeUsRemembers light or dark modeUntil you clear it
cookie_prefsUsRemembers your choices on this page and that you've seen the cookie noticeUntil you clear it
ts:isPro:<id>UsCaches your plan so the feed renders without a flickerUntil you clear it or delete your account
ts:active-day:<id>UsRecords that today's once-a-day activity check has been sentUntil you clear it or delete your account
onboarding_checklist_collapsedUsRemembers whether the Get started checklist is collapsedUntil you clear it
onboarding_shown, onboarding_welcome_shownUsStops the welcome tour reopening in the same tab (sessionStorage)Until you close the tab

If you turn on push notifications, your browser also registers our service worker and a push subscription. You can remove them at any time in your browser's site settings or from the Account page.

5. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure load times. It sets no cookies, uses no browser storage, doesn't fingerprint your device and doesn't follow you to other sites. It is off whenever your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or if you switch it off above.

We also run A/B tests on the home page: some visitors see a different version of it, and we compare how many go on to sign up. The cookies below keep you on the same version between visits. We record which version you saw and whether you clicked sign-up or created an account; nothing is recorded if you switch analytics off above, and the cookie isn't set at all if your browser sends Global Privacy Control.

NameSet byPurposeDuration
ts_vidUsRandom, anonymous ID that keeps you on the same version of the site during an A/B test1 year
ts_ab_overrideUsStaff testing only — shows a chosen version of the siteUntil you close the browser

6. Free-plan limits

To enforce the free plan's viewing window for visitors who aren't signed in, our servers briefly remember your IP address in a short-lived cache (up to 24 hours). No cookie is set for this.

7. Clearing cookies

You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. Doing so signs you out and resets your preferences. To delete your account and all of its data, go to Account → Delete account. For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
